Hi there, I’m Lisa

I’m a home décor/design blogger, furniture artist and upholstery teacher and the creative mind behind Pelow Studio Designs. I’m so happy you’ve landed on my page. Ottawa, Canada is where I call home with my husband and our teen boys.

My “particular set of skills” includes finding creative ways to personalize and elevate style, simply and affordably. One of my favourite ways to do this is by mixing old and new pieces for a “collected over time” look. In fact, I can often be found thrifting quality pieces for my home and for my clients.

By sharing helpful tips along the way, my goal is to provide you with an organized resource for inspired ideas that will help you create a welcoming haven for you and your family. If you learn some new skills and have fun along the way….it’s a win for both of us.

Every day that I get to create is a great day! I’m thankful to have a handy husband who loves DIY as much as I do and a couple of terrific teens who make me smile every day.

Though I began my career as a Pediatric nurse, I also worked as a scenic artist for local theatre and have been designing and styling spaces since college. I will chat about all things home anytime, anywhere with anyone. (My husband has heard more than enough about lighting, tile and pillows)

Teaching upholstery classes locally is tons of fun and a great way to share my passion with other creatives.
