How to organize under the kitchen sink – affordable tips:
If there’s one space that needs organizing, (at least in my house) it’s the cabinet under the kitchen sink. After far too many years of a disfunction, it was time to give it a full overhaul.

1. Clean out and Fill up: Under the kitchen sink
The first step to an organized kitchen cabinet is to start by narrowing down which supplies are a must have in here. Remove the items you don’t actually use in the kitchen (I’m looking at you shoe polish kit). There’s tons of unused vertical space and pipes to work around but with the right planning you can make every inch of space count.

2. Declutter with drawers: Small supply solution
Because there are all sorts of pipes to contend with under the kitchen sink, you have to get crafty with your solutions. And what to do with the littlest supplies and extra dish cloths?
Here’s where my funny little brain likes to get creative. What if I tried a craft supply organizer? It turned out to be the perfect kitchen cupboard storage solution as it provides small and large drawers that are perfect for smaller cleaning supplies like dishwashing tabs (and plant food!).
I found my craft organizer at HomeSense/Winners but a desk organizer would work well too.

3. Add height for extra storage underneath:
In order to make the best use of the space (and to keep my back happy) I then added budget friendly wire racks from the dollar store as my “shelves”. They provided height for the craft organizer as well as freeing up space underneath to add clear bins as my “drawers” for even more storage.

4: Double duty doors: Hang it up!
When organizing under the kitchen sink, don’t forget about the insides of the doors. These often under-utilized spaces can be incredibly helpful for quick grab items like bottle cleaners and hand towels.
Because I needed a place for both hand towels and paper towels, I added 2 adhesive towel holders, one on each side. They were super affordable easy to install by simply removing the backing and sticking them onto a clean spot on the door. There are several finishes available too!

5: Extra storage space leftover? Fill it up!
Finally, get creative with any extra vertical or side space you can find. For example, any leftover open space on top of the craft bin would be perfect for extra kitchen cloths or paper towel.
Because I still had room on one side of the organizer, I grabbed a cute bamboo utensil holder (also from the dollar store) and repurposed it for my coffee capsule boxes. It utilizes the vertical space and has separators to keep things compartmentalized.

Organizing under the kitchen sink was one of my favourite projects to tackle and though I wish I’d done it long ago, I’m happy to report that a year later it’s still organized. (insert my sigh of relief 🙂
